The Scalfano Family

The descendants of Biaggio are alive and well.  The Sclafani name was changed to Scalfano in the United States, so there are a limited amount of Scalfanos.  Biaggio's entry is in blue below.   This information was pulled together by Kathy Yates and Frank Scalfano (Frank's and Kathy's names are in bold below).  Extensive additional research was completed by Deb Hill in February, 2008. The new updated information has been added to the tree below.

Girolamo Sclafani (born around 1735 and died February 26, 1781 in Caccamo, Sicily) married Francesca. They had three children:

• Giovanna Sclafani (born in Caccamo, and died in Caccamo on September 4, 1823) married Filippo Faso.  They had one child:
  • Nicolo Faso (died August 14, 1837 in Caccamo)
• Nicolo Antonio Sclafani (born June 12, 1763 in Caccamo, died September 30, 1822 in Caccamo) married Giuseppa Pollina (daughter of Filippo Pollina and Rosa, born around 1768) on January 17, 1790 in Caccamo . They had three children:

  • Rosa Sclafani (born around 1803 in Caccamo and died July 12, 1856 in Caccamo) married Vincenzo Arena (born around 1793 and died September 5, 1853 in Caccamo, son of Giacomo Arena and Rosa Lodina).  They had three children:

    • Filippo (Philip) Sclafani (born June 29, 1834 and died July 6, 1898 in Caccamo) married Agatha (Ida) Catalano (born in 1832 in Caccamo, daughter of Giovanni Catalano and Maria Canzone) on January 14, 1860 in Caccamo. They had six children:
      • Francesca Scalfano (born in Caccamo December 13, 1860) married Philip Melino.  Records from Caccamo show that Francesca also married Ippolito Campisi  (born April 13, 1850 and died March 20, 1906 in Caccamo, son of Giovanni Campizi and Rosaria Corsello) on September 9, 1893 in Caccamo.  Francesca and Philip had two children:
